Beijing is famous for its hutong bars, located down the winding narrow backstreets, sporting huge character and often resembling bungalows. These may be harder to find but are the cities best hidden gems and thought of as the best spots to catch a drink and chat.

Live Music Venues 

Fruityspace

Fruityspace is known for its introductions of experimental indie music vibes. This is an underground venue with open brick walls and stone floor, promoting a very laid back atmosphere, so laid back eve, that anyone with an instrument can jam!

School Live Bar

School Live Bar is the place to go to experience the best rock bands in the city. The bar is well stocked and is one of the cheapest live music venues in Beijing, they often have events on with live bands to promote discounted offers on all drinks. This is certainly where you want to be for “a party!”

Hotel Bars

Xian Bar, East Beijing

Xian is an all rounder bar serving cocktail, spirits and beers, commonly known for it’s daily happy hour (5-8pm) offering half price on all drinks. This makes it one of the popular pre-drinking spots in Beijing. The interior is sleek meeting high-end and offers a range of entertainment, live music and a games bar are to name a few.

Mei Bar is known for its elite customers matching its elite interior, with an exceptional cocktail menu, which is ever changing, one to name is the Fiery Dragon Punch, literally from the name; this cocktail arrives on fire with bright red smoke! Mei Bar has known DJ sets and locally known live music.

Yet, if you want to experience a truly spectacular night with all your favourite tracks, drum and bass, hip hop, ska, dance hall and much more then this is the place to be. They are also known for throwing the odd foam party!

These are a tiny pocketful of the venues Beijing has to offer! It is not just the bars and clubs that come to life at night, Beijing is full of night markets selling street food, merchandise and displays of endless street performers!

It is safe to say that unless you experience Beijing for yourself, it is very hard to describe the true experience with words!
