Jiangsu Region

Jiangsu [苏] is known to be one of the most beautiful regions of China and it is situated on the east coast. Jiangsu also ranks fifth for the most heavily populated province in China, along with being the most wealthy, due to the rise of electronic equipment and textiles industries. The region is the home of many famous attractions, including the Grand Canal, the Confucius Temple, and the impressive Yangtze River.

The Lingshan Grand Buddha

The Lingshan Grand Buddha, located in Wuxi city, is probably one of Jiangsu’s most iconic attractions. The grand Buddha measures 88 meters in height and weighs over 700 tons. It is the largest standing Buddha statue known to mankind and was completed in 1996.

Shanjuan Cave

Shanjuan Cave

Shanjuan Cave is considered to be one of three greatest caves in the world. It is located on Luoyan Mountain. The limestone cave interior is beautifully illuminated by coloured lights and there are printed poems on the walls. An underground waterway towards the back of the cave can only be passed through by boat.

 

Zhouzhuang Town

Zhouzhuang is a beautiful waterside town located in Kunshan City, Jiangsu. The town has an impressive history, being built almost 1000 years ago. It has been well maintained during its long history and today many of the original historical monuments are still in good condition.

Zhouzhuang has become one of China’s most famous river towns. The Jishuigang Bridge was built in 1989 to allow land transportation across the …. river, prior to that, boats were heavily relied on for transportation.

Transportation

Public transportation is easily available in Jiangsu and within the province. There are 9 airports in total, including Nanjing, Wuxi and Yancheng. Shuttle buses and taxis are also easily accessible from the airports directly to hotels and attractions.
